I had a blast creating Winston’s branding for his transformational coaching business! Winston has an incredibly big vision for his business, for the clients and audience he serves, and for the world! It’s truly inspiring and I was honored that he chose me to help bring that vision to life through his branding!
His magical and natural ability to connect was so fun to get to know and portray through this design and development work. created a minimal, high-end design for his branding that reflects his taste and level of excellence in his industry.

lMTM: WHAT IGNITED YOUR PASSION FOR THE WORK THAT YOU DO?:
Winston: I have been extremely fortune to have (official and unofficial) mentors to guide every significant, positive decision in my life. And there have been times where I did not seek mentorship when I should have. And now that I have over three decades of career and executive experience, it's time to help others drawing from my faith and life experiences. My career has been so varied: from college dorm leader/Coca Cola salesman to United Way fundraiser and CEO, from founder of a technology social enterprise to executive in a venture capital backed tech firm and twice as a self-employed consultant. Each change took a leap of faith.
LMTM: DID YOUR EDUCATION HELP PREP YOU FOR YOUR INDUSTRY OR STARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS? OR ARE YOU SELF-TAUGHT?:
Winston : As a child, I saw a market need and sought to meet it. One summer when I was seven, I rounded up the children's books from my street of 5 houses and opened my own library charging a nickel to check out a book. I took those proceeds and purchased Coca Colas from my dad and candy from the neighborhood store to in turn sell to the neighborhood kids. And soon, I had saved enough money to purchase a very cool digital clock radio. So, entrepreneurship has always been in my blood. My college degree was in Philosophy and Political Science---and what these degrees taught me was there are multiple sides to any issue. Most importantly, college gave me confidence in my abilities which lead me on a career path and to places that I would have never imagined growing up in rural coastal Virginia.
lmtm: WHAT’S THE HARDEST LESSON YOU'VE LEARNED IN YOUR BUSINESS?:
Winston: Being in my own business is a daily, sometimes hourly leap of faith. And through those daily actions, you learn resiliency and tenacity. But most importantly, I've learned to trust God for his provision and protection. As a child of parents who remember the Great Depression, that's a huge leap of faith. They sought security through an employer. I watched how my dad poured his soul into a company for 23 years only to be cast aside during a transition to new ownership---and I became determined to take my destiny into my own hands. Most of my career, I've learned by being an employee, but as I hit a significant milestone birthday a few years ago--it was now time to step into that destiny.
LMTM: WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN WHEN YOU STARTED OUT?:
Winston: After serving your customers and team members well, that cash management is king. My first consulting business, it was all about minimizing taxes. And later I saw how I had only created a replacement job, not a business. To me a worthwhile business is one where you serve your clients well, provide opportunity for team members AND create the time/financial freedom that allows me to create new solutions to fill a market need.
LMTM: WHAT WAS THE AH-HA "I'M DOIN' THIS" MOMENT THAT INSPIRED YOU TO FOLLOW YOUR HEART SPARK OF STARTING YOUR OWN BUSINESS?:
Winston: When I got my first ideal client with no website, no email list, no opt-in and no funnel. Now, let's find out how to best serve her and find others just like her.
LMTM: WHAT HAVE YOU GAINED OR HOPE TO GAIN FROM FOLLOWING THIS DREAM AND ADVENTURE?:
Winston: My dream day involves creating great content/thinking tools in the morning, serving clients in the afternoon and enjoying family life in the evenings. It is staying close in my walk with God because He has much better plans than I could ever imagine. It's about being generous with my clients, my team and my community.
LMTM: WHY DID YOU ULTIMATELY DECIDE TO WORK WITH ME FOR YOUR CUSTOM BRAND DESIGN?:
Winston: Anna sings your praises and that's a very high bar for her. And then when we met, I knew you understood who I am and what I'm seeking to be in the marketplace. I knew the work would be wonderful and it has been.
WORDS FROM WINSTON:
“I so appreciate how you over-delivered on our branding project. I absolutely LOVE each and every element which has completely captured my personal brand business.”
